Visual Design

Before attending animation college, I was already exploring 2D graphics in Adobe Suite and experimenting with projection mapping in Mad Mapper. Growing up in the Los Angeles and Long Beach creative scene, I had the opportunity to create visuals and do video mapping for a variety of events. While many of these projects had modest budgets and loose themes, they gave me the freedom to develop my personal style.

Inspired by Tim Burton and Lisa Frank, my work leans towards dramatic motion and bold, vibrant colors. However, the most rewarding part of live event visuals is seeing people fully immersed in the experience—losing themselves in the colors, music, and atmosphere, surrounded by friends and energy.

LAVA x NATURAL HISTORY MUSEUM

I was fortunate to be selected for the Los Angeles Visual Artist Dino Room take over the April 2024 First Friday event at the Natural History museum. I made an array of playful visuals that got to be projected onto the room’s pillars and left side of the Dino display. Four other artist were involved transforming the space into a visual spectacular.

FREE HUGS RESIDENCY @ THE TOP LONG BEACH

From Sept 2023- May 2024 Free Hugs Dance Party ran every first Saturday of the month. The organizer initially contacted me about a vibrant and cute girls party night. I made a variety of playful visuals every month with the logo along with the dj names of the performers for each of the nights. The event was packed with fun party vibes.

DEAR LONG BEACH ART /MUSIC EVENT

Summer 2024 The annual Dear Long Art and Music event took place at The Grey in Downtown Long Beach. I was contacted by the organizer to provide visuals for the bands performing the night portion of the event. Transforming their logo into playful designs and bringing to life the artists band names was a blast. The night was filled with high energy and colorful displays.

VJ SUBBING

The occasional sub for my VJ friends is always exciting despite the late hours. Having these random gigs usually on short notice is a fun exercise for me to generate new content with not a lot of pressure. Often I’m able to whip up visuals based off of logos and artist names on the fly and do more complex layering in my Mad Mapper project at the event.
